This week we've got Casey James Brooks, a rock and roll lifer whose sound has traveled a long road — from metal and punk in his younger years to the rootsy, heartfelt Americana he writes now. His music blends Americana, folk, alt-country, rock, and gospel into simple, catchy songs about life, love, loss, and hope. Weathered in all the right ways, and exactly what a Thursday night calls for.

The Dawn Hotel plays music for wide-open spaces and the people who live in them. Equal parts folk memory and rock instinct, their sound draws from the full breadth of American tradition — country, blues, rock, folk — and filters it through the high desert air of their home in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
